Question: Raw food has a charge. How long?
Answer: When you prepare a food, say, you cut it up, grate it, blend it, break it up, it starts to oxidize, you start losing that charge. So it’s best to prepare it as soon as you can eat it. And in the Vedas it says food that has been prepared more than three hours before it’s eaten is beginning to go down. When you are dealing with this food, raw food or whatever, you should try to eat it as soon as you prepare it as possible. Prepare just enough for what you are going to eat, so there are not a lot of leftovers, and each time there should be some freshly prepared food. These things you can do quickly.
But it also says in the Vedas: once you offer this food to God, then it doesn’t lose its goodness, even if it’s kept longer.
