Ok, our second meditation was our japa meditation with the beads. If you remember, the mantra was the maha-mantra. This is the mantra Lord Gauranga, the most recent incarnation of the Supreme Lord, recommended for this Kali yuga. It is fully authorized, fully sanctioned.
And if you remember, we chant the maha-mantra on all the beads except the head bead. When we begin, we touch the head bead and chant the mantra Gauranga, and then the maha-mantra on the individual beads. And of course we want to try to relax, meditate on this sound. This is engaging our senses in a spiritual activity and that is purifying the senses.
We will do one round all together as we did last night. And we will start with Gauranga on the head bead. So, again, try to enter into the whole meditation. Don’t worry about other things, we are here now doing this, try to focus, be here.

Very good. You practiced very well. Ok, now we are going to do approximately one round individually. I say approximately because we go at different speeds so we are not going to finish at the same time. And of course remember to chant out loud enough so you can hear clearly the mantra and pronounce each name clearly. And once again, Gauranga on the head bead. Touching the head bead. Gauranga.
Japa meditation individually
All right, so that is your japa yoga. Remember we suggest at least two rounds a day. We just did two rounds basically. So you can see it is very achievable, it is not difficult. And like I say they can be at different times of the day: one in the morning, one in the evening. And when those two rounds are going well, then actually think about increasing the number: four, six. You work your way up a little bit. Because that brings us in contact with this transcendental sound that much every day. So it is a very scientific way to bring that transcendental sound into our life. And remember you can do it walking. Keep them in your pocket, you’ll find many opportunities to do japa meditation.
If you do it on a regular basis, it gets easier and easier, more and more desirable. Your beads will become very special to you. Many things happen. Again, we are always encouraging people to apply the process.
